Hopefully you have gained some new insight into the burial grounds of African-American Civil War soldiers in the central Pennsylvania region by viewing this website. Each cemetery has its own story; however, all of the soldiers, as well as the other African-Americans involved in the Civil War who were not fighting, were striving for freedom and independence. It is imperative that their final resting places always be remembered and never forgotten.
If you would like more information on the Civil War, Dickinson College has an extremely informative website that you should visit.
If you have the opportunity, hop in your car and take the actual driving tour. It can be a different experience actually touring these cemeteries than just looking at pictures online. We have provided a link to Google maps to help you travel from cemetery to cemetery.
Thank you for visiting our website!
